About theRole :
This is an excitingopportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future success ofour students. You will be responsible for delivering engaging andstimulating Biology lessons inspiring a passion for the subject andpreparing students for their exams.
The TLR (Teaching and LearningResponsibility)
allowance acknowledges an additional responsibilityfor leading or coordinating a specific area within the Biologycurriculum or department.
KeyResponsibilities :
- CurriculumDelivery :
- Plandeliver and evaluate engaging and stimulating Biology lessonsacross the curriculum catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 78) and KeyStage 4 (Years 911) in line with the NationalCurriculum.
- Utilize a variety of teachingmethods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all studentscan develop their scientific knowledge and skills effectively(practical work problemsolving critical thinking).
- CurriculumDevelopment :
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Biologycurriculum ensuring it aligns with the schools vision nationalrequirements and the latest advancements in Biologyeducation.
- Stay abreast of current trends andbest practices in teaching Biology implementing innovativeapproaches to enhance student learning (e.
g. technology integrationinquirybased learning).
- Assessment andEvaluation :
- Designand implement effective assessment strategies to monitor studentprogress in biological knowledge and skills (formative andsummative assessments).

- A qualifiedBiology teacher with a demonstrable track record of success inengaging students and developing their scientificunderstanding.
- Excellent subject knowledge anda passion for inspiring a love of Biology in students of allabilities.
- Strong pedagogical skills and theability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater todiverse learning styles.
- A commitment to highstandards and the ability to create a positive stimulating andsupportive learning environment.
- Excellentcommunication interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- A willingness to be part of a dynamic department andcontribute to its ongoing development.
- Leadership experience or potential for leading orcoordinating a specific area within the Biology curriculum ordepartment (as per TLRresponsibilities).
