Salary : QUEST Grade B, £16,057 - £16,596 per annum.

31.25 hours per week, term time working 38 weeks per year

Temporary until August 2025

Teaching Assistant Level 2 Supporting Child with Communication and Interaction

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at St John's C. of E. Primary School Abram.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing targeted support to a pupil with communication and interaction needs, helping them to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities :

- Provide one-to-one and small group support to the pupil, tailoring your approach to their individual needs
- Encourage and model the use of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) methods, such as visual timetables, symbols, and assistive technology, to support pupils' communication






- Assist the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement the pupil's support plan
- Monitor the pupil's progress and provide regular feedback to the class teacher
- Promote the pupil's independence and self-care skills
- Attend relevant training and professional development opportunities

Required Qualifications and Experience :

- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Teaching Assistance or a related field
- Experience working with pupils with communication and interaction needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
