We are currently seeking a compassionate and resilient Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our committed team. In this vital role, you will be a key figure in the lives of students dealing with anxiety, depression,
and a range of other SEMH challenges, including those at risk of self-harm or suicidal thoughts.
Your work will be central to ensuring each student’s well-being and helping them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities :
- Tailored Student Support : Provide both one-on-one and group support, creating a safe space where students feel understood and valued.
- Nurturing Environment : Help foster a positive learning atmosphere that promotes the social, emotional, and academic growth of each student.
- Collaborative Care : Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to design and implement personalised support plans that address the unique needs of each student.
- Resilience Building : Assist students in developing effective coping strategies and resilience skills to manage their emotions and behaviors.
- Progress Monitoring : Keep detailed and confidential records of student progress, behavior, and emotional well-being,
ensuring that each student's journey is carefully documented and supported.
- Relationship Building : Engage with students to build strong, trusting relationships that reinforce their sense of belonging and self-worth.
- Behavioral Support : Collaborate with colleagues to implement behavioral interventions and de-escalation techniques, maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all.
- Academic Support : Contribute to the academic progress of students, particularly those working towards their GCSE qualifications, by supporting our inclusion group and other educational activities.
Qualifications and Skills :
- Strong Communication : Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, colleagues, and parents / carers.
- Empathy and Resilience : A deep sense of empathy,
patience, and resilience to effectively support students through challenging behaviors and situations.
- Team Collaboration : The ability to work seamlessly as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the holistic care and development of students.
- Adaptability : Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and the SEMH provision.
- Relevant Experience : While qualifications in education, psychology, social work, or a related field are advantageous, they are not essential.
Passion and dedication are what matter most.
Safeguarding : This role requires an Enhanced DBS check, as the safety and well-being of our students are our top priority.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
