Are you an experienced Nurse looking to either change direction, or develop and grow within your career?
An opportunity has arisen for you to join the Medical Acute Dependency Unit nursing team within the Medicine directorate at Wexham park hospital.
Our MADU is a 16 bedded unit and has facilities for full cardiac monitoring and non-invasive ventilation. We provide level one and two care to patients with a variety of conditions from GI bleeds, DKA, type 1 and type 2 respiratory failure requiring non-invasive ventilation, Heart failure, severe electrolyte imbalance, central lines and arterial lines monitoring, amongst others.
We will consider newly qualified nurses nearing the end of their training wishing to join our team also and will ensure they will have the appropriate training and support they need.
We positively promote staff development with the support of our Practice Development nurse, and you will have the opportunity to develop your skills with the aid of the nationally recognised Skills competency Framework.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual patient care with minimal supervision.
- To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that treatments are correctly carried out in accordance with given policy.
