Business Development Director – Public Sector & Local Government (D365/Microsoft Focus)Location: Home based (may require occasional travel)Job Type: Full-time, PermanentSalary: £75,000 - £95,000Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute a business development strategy targeting public sector and local government organizations, with a focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions. Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers within the public sector, including local authorities, government agencies, and related entities. Identify new business opportunities and drive the sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and close.

Collaborate with internal teams, including pre-sales, solution architects, and delivery teams,





to develop proposals and ensure alignment with client requirements. Act as a subject matter expert on Dynamics 365 and Microsoft business applications, understanding the challenges faced by public sector clients and how our solutions can address their needs. Track industry trends and market changes within the public sector to inform business development efforts and adjust strategies accordingly.

Achieve and exceed sales targets, contributing to the company’s overall growth and market expansion. Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to share with senior leadership, providing insights into business development activities and results. Skills & Experience Required:Strong track record of selling Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) business applications and other Microsoft products and solutions.

Experience working with a Partner or consultancy Deep understanding of public sector procurement processes, regulations, and challenges.





Ability to build and maintain C-level relationships and influence stakeholders within government entities. Demonstrated ability to strategically identify and close complex deals, with a focus on long-term partnerships.

Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical solutions into business value. Experience working with Microsoft Partner Network or in collaboration with Microsoft teams is highly desirable. A proactive, results-driven approach, with a passion for driving growth and expanding market presence.

Experience with CRM and ERP solutions within the public sector.





Knowledge of Azure, Power Platform, and other Microsoft cloud services. Experience working in a consulting or systems integrator environment.

Familiarity with framework agreements and public sector contracts such as G-Cloud and other government procurement frameworks.
