We are looking for a junior member of staff to support the Head of Legal and ideally to act as the primary legal contact for Milk & More to in the provision of advice to all departments and senior management on the contractual and commercial legal issues affecting a fast-paced, consumer-facing, e-commerce business.
You could be a recently qualified solicitor looking for a new challenge or currently be a paralegal or legal assistant looking to develop their skills and knowledge with a view to qualifying as a solicitor.
No sector relevant or in-house experience is required (although would be preferred) and we are flexible as to legal training- attitude, a passion to learn and a ‘can do’ attitude are more important than qualifications or particular skill-set.
Full time is preferred, and our office is in Camberley, Surrey, with some degree of hybrid working assumed.
Responsibilities
- Assist with provision of accurate, relevant and timely advice on general contract and commercial legal topics that relate to the business and its products. Also advise on Intellectual Property, Employment, Regulatory Affairs and Property law if possible.
- Assist with drafting, review and negotiation of various commercial contracts and agreements, identifying risks and mitigation.
- Manage the business’ contract management database and support good contract governance across the business, including leading reviews on past,
current and future contract requirements.
- Oversee the business’ standard and template legal documentation, reviewing it regularly and supporting training staff on correct usage.
- Work with the company’s IT and information security functions to oversee GDPR compliance across the organisation, including supporting with training, managing policies and procedures, managing breaches and monitoring data subject access requests.
- Assist compliance with laws and regulations that apply to the business and advise on company secretarial matters.
- Stay up-to-date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules and regulations that directly affect the business and industry.
- General administrative tasks e.g. billing
Desired Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Qualified solicitor- NQ to 2 years PQE, or previous experience as a paralegal or legal assistant
- Good understanding and knowledge of contract and commercial law.
- Good understanding of GDPR compliance and management.
- Experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
- Experience in advising on company secretarial, marketing/ advertising, Intellectual Property, Employment, Regulatory Affairs and Property law would be beneficial but not essential.

- Ability to project manage workload in a fast-paced environment to tight deadlines.
- Ability to communicate legal issues and risks in terms that non-legal colleagues can understand.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills,
with ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships across the business.
- Ability to work well within a team and individually, and with a high level of motivation.
