Key responsibilities for the role include:

- Leading on analysis, meaningful insights and timely reporting of DCMS commercial data for internal, cross-Whitehall and external stakeholders, and upskilling the wider team in these areas.
- Lead the Secretariat function for Commercial Boards, managing senior involvement and decision-making on strategic priorities and high risk commercial activity to assure and enable successful commercial operations.
- Effective leadership and management of a team of at least two.
- Leading the Commercial directorate in managing risk, and feeding risk information into DCMS wider governance structures.
- Leading on the application and management of Consultancy,





Professional Services and Contingent Labour spend controls to gain savings and efficiencies.

Essential requirements

- A proven track record of leading on data analysis, insights and timely reporting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and experience of engaging and influencing senior stakeholders to drive decision making.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Significant experience ensuring high standards of governance and assurance across an organisation.
- Highly organised, able to maintain a teams delivery with competing priorities across the business while meeting new challenges.

Desirable skills

- Experience of risk management and reporting.
- Line management experience.
- Knowledge of Government Commercial and Procurement activity.

If the vacancy is offered as FTA/Loan, existing Civil Servants must join on a Loan basis only. Prior agreement to be released on loan must be obtained before commencing the application process. In the case of Civil Servants,
