Rate: £550 a day depending on experience

This is the chance to work for a unique organisation as a Lead DevOps Engineer! Our client is a not-for-profit charity that reviews/certifies companies, governments and financial institutions for their environmental impact and awareness. Our client is the main global authority that certifies and monitors the environmental impact that companies/governments have on the natural environment. Essentially, they provide the equivalent of the “Fair Trade” sticker that you would see on a jar of coffee but for businesses and local governments.
The organisation is over 20 years old, headquartered in the UK with an office in central London, and has 700 staff globally (100 circa in the UK).
As the Lead DevOps Engineer, you will be reporting to the CTO who manages the tech team of circa 30 people comprising developers, data engineers, QA, and DevOps.
Essential tech Stack:
- Coming from a Development Background
- Experience with Terraform
- Experience with Docker
- Experience with Azure Function Apps
- Experience with Azure DevOps
Responsibilities:
- Create, manage, and own the processes, procedures, and methodologies for the DevOps faculty across engineering
- Train, support and mentor the software engineers to enable a DevOps capability across Engineering.
- Utilise Terraform to automate and manage cloud infrastructure
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure Pipelines.
- Act as the primary liaison between the infrastructure team and developers.
- Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address issues.
About You:
- Coming from a Development background.
- Experience with Terraform
- Experience with Azure/MS stack: DevOps, App services, Function Apps, Container Apps, MS SQL server, Service Bus
- At least two years of experience in leading DevOps for a large-scale Azure platform
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to develop DevOps approaches and strategies
- Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop the team, advocate for DevOps best practices and influence adoption
- Knowledge, interest,
and passion for the environmental and/or sustainability space will be an advantage.
