Job description

The successful applicant will work with Professor Callum Munday (Official Fellow in Physical Geography). The post offers the opportunity to develop skills in teaching and academic administration in a supportive environment.

St John’s admits five undergraduates each year to read the geography course.

The Lecturer will provide up to an average of 6 hours of teaching in human geography (tutorials and classes) during each week of full term, as directed by the Senior Tutor and Tutor in physical geography.

This will include teaching papers on Human Geography, Geographical Controversies, Geographical Techniques, Environmental Geography, Geographical Thought and Space, Place, and Society.

In addition, they will :





set (and mark) start of term collections for all three years as required, and contribute as appropriate to the College’s access and outreach initiatives.

The salary will be 0.75 of the University scales 7.1, currently £27,018per annum, pro-rata for the period of appointment and is dependent on qualifications and experience.

This figure will be adjusted to grade 6.1, currently £24,249 per annum for candidates who do not hold a doctorate.

In addition, the successful candidate will be entitled to research allowances, and dining privileges as outlined in the Further Particulars.
