About the Role :
This is an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of confident and articulate communicators. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and stimulating English lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11).
Key Responsibilities :
- Curriculum Delivery :
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating English lessons, fostering a love of literature, language, and communication in students.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students reach their full potential in English.
- Develop students' critical reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
- Effectively prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
- Student Progress :
- Track and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to ensure students achieve their learning goals in English.
- Utilize a variety of assessment strategies to inform teaching and learning.
- Enrichment Activities :
- Contribute to and potentially lead enrichment activities related to English (e.g., book clubs, creative writing workshops, drama productions).
- Foster a love of reading and encourage students to explore different genres and authors.
The Ideal Candidate :
- A qualified English Teacher with a minimum of 2 years' successful teaching experience.
- A strong passion for the English language and literature and a demonstrable track record of raising student achievement.
- Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to keep up-to-date with current trends in English education.
- Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver engaging and interactive lessons.
- A commitment to high standards and creating a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
