A well-established SEN specialist service in Southwark, South London, seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Technology teacher to join our growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to make a real difference in the lives of young people with SEN within a supportive and inclusive environment.
About the Role :
- You will plan,
deliver and assess engaging and informative Food Technology lessons tailored to the National Curriculum and the specific needs of our students across all key stages.
- You will create a safe and stimulating learning environment that fosters a love of food, practical cooking skills, and an understanding of nutrition in a way that is accessible to all learners.
- You will develop students’ practical skills in the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation, with a focus on building confidence and independence.
- You will collaborate with other professionals within the service to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- You will play a key role in maintaining a well-equipped and safe food technology learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate :
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Food Technology or a relevant subject.
- A strong passion for food and a demonstrably engaging teaching style, with experience in adapting lessons for students with SEN.
- Excellent communication,
interpersonal and classroom management skills with a strong focus on positive behaviour management.
- The ability to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that caters to a diverse range of needs.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Experience working with students with SEN (desirable).
