About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Technical Accounting and Finance Transformation Accountant to join our evolving finance team.
In this role, you will focus on driving individual finance transformation initiatives,
ensuring technical accounting compliance, and enhancing our financial control environment.
Your work will directly contribute to improving financial processes and ensuring accounting accuracy across the organisation.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IFRS accounting principles and / or experience with finance transformation / improvement projects.
You will also play a critical role in implementing finance process enhancements and streamlining financial operations through the integration of technology and Lean methodologies (for which training will be made available).
Key Responsibilities
Technical Accounting
- Manage and provide technical accounting guidance to ensure the business complies with IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.
- Offer accounting support for new products, funding lines, and corporate structures, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Draft and maintain technical accounting documentation,
including accounting policies and assessing the impact of any new applicable standards on the business.
- Partner with auditors to resolve technical accounting issues and participate in discussions to resolve any challenges that arise.
Finance Transformation
- Lead or contribute to finance transformation initiatives focused on improving process efficiency and automation across the organisation.
- Collaborate with Treasury, Financial Risk, Tech / IT, and other cross-functional teams to align project outcomes with overall business goals.
- Identify opportunities for process optimisation, implementing Lean methodologies to improve day-to-day financial operations.
- Help to drive standardisation efforts for financial reconciliations, ensuring consistency and integrity in financial reporting.
About You
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA,
or equivalent) ideally with some post-qualification experience in accounting / auditing practice or financial services / related industries.
- Exposure to technical accounting principles (preferably IFRS2,IFRS9, IFRS10, IFRS15).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to assess financial processes and propose innovative solutions.
- Experience with finance transformation initiatives, ideally involving technology integration and process automation / enhancement / standardisation.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with Oracle NetSuite or similar financial systems.
- Exposure to the lending or real estate finance sector.
- Some knowledge of Corporation Tax and VAT
