Job description

Job Overview

This is a new post offering an exciting opportunity for further development within the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Perinatal services.

The role will span both the large Perinatal multi-disciplinary team and much smaller, psychology led Maternal Mental Health team.

This role will be an important member of the psychological therapy leadership team and therefore this is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for career development.

The development of Specialist Perinatal services over the last 5 years has been considerable and therefore the opportunities for learning and development are wide ranging.

The psychological approaches are varied, including CBT for trauma, EMDR, CFT,

Behavioural Couples therapy as well as specific perinatal related models such as VIG and Circle of Security.

The post holder will have the opportunity to undertake training for their own development and to improve service provision.

There is also a strong emphasis in the Trust and within the psychology team on compassionate, effective leadership and training in leadership models and application will be encouraged.

We have excellent links with the local University of Leicester DClinPsy course and the postholder will be encouraged to provide either teaching, reflective practice facilitation or committee representation as needed, as well as supervising trainee Clinical Psychologists on placement.

The teams strive to work within a trauma informed value base, which very much fits with the Leicestershire Partnership Trust values and vision.

We can provide the post holder with specialist supervision and leadership from the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and a very well developed network with regional and national Perinatal services.

Job Description Summary (Main duties and responsibilities)

The main duties will include supporting the Consultant Clinical Psychologist, and existing Principal in developing the psychological provision in the teams, both regarding staff wellbeing and clinical therapeutic offer.

The psychological therapy pathways are in dynamic development so opportunities to play a key role in service development, representing your profession at management level and providing management and clinical support for staff are significant.

The postholder will also be expected to work on improving access and therefore reach out to the local community as part of this.

The perinatal frame of mind is a vital part of the service,

therefore you would be working with individuals, couples, parent-infant relationships and within a whole family approach.

The postholder will be expected to hold a small clinical caseload and can develop clinical skills within the Perinatal frame but focus on particular pathways according to interest and service need.

Management and clinical supervision of psychological therapy colleagues will be an essential part of the role, as well as providing consultation and supervision for the wider team and other stakeholder services according to need and as time allows.

We may close the advert early, if we receive a sufficient number of applicants, so please apply as soon as possible.
