The role includes :
Working with partners to achieve the community safety priorities for the District to prevent and reduce crime and disorder and protect people from harm.
The current priorities include : violent crime, domestic abuse, county line drugs, knife crime, burglary and theft, rural crime and anti-social behaviour.
- To achieve this you will :
- o develop new approaches and find problem solving solutions to community safety problems;
- o lead, facilitate or participate in projects;
- o find ways to respond to emerging trends in the District and bring together partners who can help achieve solutions;
- o identify data to justify proposals and produce reports;
- o identify funding opportunities and prepare funding bids;
o work closely with partners including Police, Councils, Housing Associations, businesses and the voluntary and community sector.
This is an exciting time to join the Council’s Community Safety team to tackle our community safety priorities. We also have new responsibilities from Government to tackle serious violence and knife crime and make our streets safer using prevention and detection methods.
In order to do this there is local and national funding to deliver projects and interventions. You will work within a diverse team comprising of anti-social behaviour officers, rural crime advisors,
and the CCTV team to keep Stratford District a safe place to live and work.
We are looking for a self-starter with excellent organisational skills to take a leading role in developing and implementing projects, policies, and approaches to local issues.
As well as project management, your role will also encompass opportunities to develop creative solutions to address emerging trends and identify grant funding opportunities and prepare funding applications.
It is important that you have experience of successfully delivering projects, ideally within a community safety environment.
You will be skilled at building relationships and gaining the trust and support of statutory partners,
businesses and the community sector in order to prevent and detect crime and disorder.
A Basic DBS check will be required for this position.
