Job description

Location : Our sessions are based at community venues across Surrey, with this role being primarily based in Guildford and Woking.

Hours : Variable Hours contract working primarily across sessions running Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm, during term time.

Annual Leave : 30 days pro-rata, inclusive of bank holidays.

Training : Fully paid training is given and further development opportunities are available.

We are looking for people to support learners in an outreach capacity on our fantastic community based learning programme, Building Futures, around the local Guildford and Woking areas.

You will be responsible for :







- Providing highly person-centred 1 : 1 support to young adults,
- Helping to promote life skills, independence, social skills, leisure opportunities, educational provision and community access.
- Reporting actual or potential safeguarding matters to the Project Worker, Year Leader, Building Futures management team or Head of Safeguarding without delay.

Please see below for an example of what a week in Building Futures may look like :

- Excellent communication, organisation and problem solving skills.
- Due to the physical nature of the programme and community working, a good level of fitness and stamina is required.
- Suitable references.
- Aged 18 and above.
- Right to work in the UK
- Willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS Check. The initial cost of the DBS application will be paid for by halow.

Professional or personal experience of learning disabilities, and experience within a health and social care and / or educational setting is desirable, but we also pride ourselves on a values-based approach and the main skill we are looking for is an ambition to help others.
