Prospero Teaching are seeking individuals who would like a career as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant . Ideally you will have some previous experience working closely with children or supporting adults with additional needs, but we also consider those with no experience of either but have a desire to start.
We are working closely with schools that offer education support to those with moderate and complex learning difficulties, autism, speech & language difficulties and Social, emotional & mental health difficulties.
Teaching assistants are required to join the team, supporting students aged 5-16 years old throughout their academic day on a 1 : 1 basis or in small groups.
The role is working in SEN Support and will consist of :
- Providing tailored support and working with children with SEMH and SEN (special education needs)
- Creating a safe environment that allows the children to have fun, learn and succeed
- Academic support of a 1 : 1 basis or in small groups
- Assisting the teacher
The Ideal Candidate :
- Teaching assistant qualification would be desired but not essential
- Experience of supporting pupils with SEN on a voluntary or paid basis OR
- Experience of working with children in a youth setting
Position Details :
- Location Sheffield, West Yorkshire
- Position SEN Teaching Assistant
- Contract Type Temporary (with possible permanent opportunities)
- Minimum Daily Rate £85
- Hours (Term Time only) Monday Friday
- Start Date ASAP

- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
