Group Fire Officer
Hybrid Working / Barbican Property Permanent Full Time
Competitive salary, depending on experience
37.5 hours per week

As the Group Fire Officer you possess specialist knowledge within Building / Engineering / Fire Safety. Qualified to degree level (or equivalent);
you have deep expertise in fire safety procedures, legislation (including the Regulatory Reform Order 2005), and fire risk management.
You can apply fire safety guidelines practically and produce clear, accurate reports, as well as conduct thorough fire risk assessments.
The Group Fire Officer will have significant experience in the fire safety industry, including conducting fire risk assessments across various premises.
Skilled in preparing and delivering fire safety training to staff at all levels and have experience investigating fire incidents and unwanted fire alarms.
Additionally, the incumbent will have a background in handling fire-related incidents in complex buildings and providing expert advice to other specialist or technical staff.
The Group Fire Officer will provide expert guidance on fire safety and ensure compliance with legal regulations. They will act as the Competent Person for fire safety, advising leaders and staff, coordinating fire prevention measures, and delivering fire safety training across all Charity premises.
As our Group Fire Officer, you will also :
Act as the specialist in Fire Safety for the Charity.
Provide expert technical advice and training to staff and managers up to board level on the implementation of Fire Safety Policies and the organisation and management of fire safety precautions.
Develop, implement, and update Charity fire safety policies, procedures and strategies.
Ensure that site leaders can comply and have the evidence to demonstrate compliance with Regulatory Requirements for HSE, Fire Authority, HIS, HIW and CQC in relation to fire safety.
Be the key lead of the Charity fire safety investment plan informing the sequencing and prioritisation.
Contribute to ensure that the Charity operates in an efficient manner to ensure achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy, or timeliness objectives.
Ensure that Infection Control standards are factored into the fire safety programme where relevant through liaison with the clinical SMEs.
Provide regular reports, updates and briefings to Exec, Senior Leaders and staff across the Charity.
