The Role
The Operational Resilience and Business Continuity Manager will support the Operational Resilience Practice Lead in the development and implementation of Northern Trust’s Operational Resilience Framework and associated policies.
This will improve the Firm’s resilience and enable the Firm to plan for and respond to significant business disruption and implement actions to mitigate foreseeable adverse impact.
Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to ensure adherence to resiliency office methodology.
The main responsibilities :
Support and lead on elements of the Operational Resilience Framework and supporting methodology
Proactive management of team members within the Resiliency Office Assurance team
Oversees the resiliency program covering the Operational Resilience Business Services Lifecycle and Business Continuity Plan Assurance Framework
Supports the implementation and embeddedness of the Operational Resilience framework across Asset Servicing legal entities
This includes engaging with senior leaders and relevant SMEs across Asset Servicing to map out important business services,
set impact tolerances and supports reporting to business unit / legal entity committees as required
Support in analyzing Asset Servicing’s business continuity requirements and supports the development of robust recovery strategies in relation to the prioritisation of service continuity
Monitor and review impact of new Products and Organizational change on Asset Servicing resiliency strategy
Identifies and solves complex, operational problems leveraging the appropriate resources within or outside the department
Remain current on regulatory requirements, internal policies and controls related to operational resilience, business continuity and other resiliency related programs
Skills / Experience
Several years experience in operational resiliency.
People management experience - sets team priorities,
and allocates resources to align with business objectives
Working knowledge of the appropriate standards and regulations e.g., ISO22301 and FCA / PRA / BoE and other country regulator’s publications in relation to Operational Resilience
Management skills; proven stakeholder engagement experience, engaging and inclusive management style, with experience of having managed Business Continuity / Incident Management / operational processes / risk management initiatives.
Analytical skills able to analyse and interpret key facts across data sources, providing stakeholders with clear and concise recommendations and reports
ability to decide, under pressure, the best course of action required to solve a range of problems from complex queries to technical issues
Communication and Interpersonal Skills communicate clearly and concisely, tailoring content and style, with ability to make a positive impression on others.
Coaching, training, and mentoring experience across diverse teams, capable of effectively managing conflict and change, resolving problems expeditiously
