About the Role :
This is an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of scientists and ignite their curiosity about the world around them.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and stimulating Science lessons across the curriculum, catering to all Key Stages (Years 7-11).
Key Responsibilities :
- Curriculum Delivery :
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating Science lessons, fostering a love of science and scientific inquiry in students.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students develop a strong foundation in scientific knowledge and practical skills.
- Develop students' critical thinking, problem-solving, and investigative skills through scientific exploration.
- Effectively prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
- Practical Learning :
- Create a safe and engaging learning environment in the science labs.
- Ensure effective use of scientific equipment and foster a hands-on approach to learning.
- Develop students' confidence and competence in conducting experiments and analyzing data.
- Enrichment Activities :
- Contribute to and potentially lead extracurricular science clubs, competitions, or enrichment activities.
- Motivate students to explore science beyond the curriculum and participate in science fairs or other events.
The Ideal Candidate :
- A qualified Science Teacher with a minimum of 2 years' successful teaching experience.
- A strong passion for science and a demonstrable track record of raising student achievement.
- Excellent subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (or relevant specialisms for the school).
- Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver engaging and interactive lessons that promote scientific inquiry.
- A commitment to high standards and creating a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
