About the Role :
This is an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of readers and writers. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and stimulating English lessons across the curriculum, catering to all Key Stages (Years 7-11).
Key Responsibilities :
- Curriculum Delivery :
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating English lessons, fostering a love of literature, language, and communication skills in students.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students reach their full potential.
- Develop students' critical reading, writing, and communication skills across all areas of the English curriculum.
- Effectively prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations (English Language and English Literature).
- Creative Learning :
- Encourage a love of reading through a diverse range of texts and genres.
- Foster creativity and critical thinking skills through writing activities and discussions.
- Integrate drama and performance into lessons where appropriate.
- Student Progress :
- Track and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to ensure students achieve their learning goals.
- Utilize a variety of assessment strategies to inform teaching and learning.
The Ideal Candidate :
- A qualified English Teacher with a minimum of 2 years' successful teaching experience.
- A strong passion for English literature and language and a demonstrable track record of raising student achievement.
- Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to keep up-to-date with current developments in English language teaching.
- Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver engaging and interactive lessons.
- A commitment to high standards and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
