To undertake radiographic diagnostics for the Directorate of Clinical Sciences by participating in a rotational system working within the sphere of General Radiology. This includes on-call, nights, evenings, and weekend duties. The department offers a 7-day service to its stakeholders and it is a requirement that the post holder takes part in this rota and any on-call rotas or shift systems that may be applicable.

The post holder will be based at 1 of the three sites but will be expected to maintain a degree of flexibility should support be required at sites other than the base. If based at Scunthorpe rotation to Goole will be required as part of the role.





Community Diagnostics Centres may also offer radiology procedures and the radiographer would be expected to participate in rotas and to travel to work placements at these centres.

Any successful candidate who is awaiting their HCPC registration following qualification will be expected to work as an Assistant Practitioner (Band 4). When HCPC registration is confirmed, then will progress to Radiographer post (Band 5).

The radiographer will work closely with other members of the team to ensure the provision of an efficient and effective Imaging service. They will perform imaging examinations in line with current departmental protocols and work to achieve & maintain competencies in diagnostic imaging procedures.

It will be essential that the radiographer maintains a Personal Development Programme and competency to practice.

The post holder will be expected to provide a high standard of imaging and patient care. The radiographer will ensure compliance with the statutory Ionising Radiation Medical Exposure Regulation (IR(ME)R)





procedures and undertake the duties of an IR(ME)R Operator. These duties ensure that practical tasks that may influence patient radiation dose or image quality are carried out correctly according to the documented procedures.

Support the training and clinical supervision of student radiographers.
