Join Police Digital Service as a Product Owner - starting salary £55,000

This role is initially fixed term until 31st March 2025, with a view to making permanent if funding allows.

We are looking for a dedicated, customer-oriented Product Owner to join our Technical Operations Function. This home-based role involves handling the management, tactical and strategic execution of the product development process for National IT Systems on behalf of Policing.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement strategic plans for National IT Systems on behalf of Policing
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to define requirements
- Monitor the performance of National IT systems on behalf of Policing
- Identify and mitigate risks related to National IT Systems on behalf of Policing
- Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers
- Work collaboratively with internal and external development partners
- Own the Product backlog,





leading prioritisation of updates and developments
- Represent the product at various forums, project, or programme boards
- Manage system upgrades, implementing new technologies, and ensuring data security and privacy
- Oversee the design and implementation of new IT systems or upgrades
- Maintain documentation of IT systems
- Define and agree product roadmaps and feedback on its delivery to the Product Manager
- Lead Agile events and work with the Scrum Master to ensure that these are successful
- Act as the voice of the customer

What you need to succeed in the role

- Significant experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role
- Experienced problem solver with excellent analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of hardware and software






- Capable of managing tasks and prioritising workload
- A broad technical skill set and a commitment to personal development
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate with different levels of stakeholders
- High levels of integrity and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
- Deep understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Certified product SCRUM Product Owner or equivalent
- Experience of working with technical teams to deliver outputs within timescales
- Experience of working collaboratively with teams to deliver new system features and outputs
- High standards?you will know what good looks like and want to deliver it
- Experience of software engineering practices like DevSecOps,





CI/CD pipelines and release management.
