Delivery Manager -health tech/tech for good, make a positive impact on the world - is required by highly successful and fast growing organisation.

JOB PURPOSE

Your purpose is to work closely with the Head of Engineering to help lead the delivery of products and projects within the organisation. This is a senior role where you will have the authority to oversee and influence entire programmes of work and help foster a culture of continuous improvementbothwithin individual teams and across the engineering and technology function as a whole.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

End-to-End Delivery:

- Lead the technical delivery of commercially viable products and projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget,





and to the highest quality standards.
- Oversee the entire delivery life cycle, from inception through to delivery, managing risks, dependencies, and constraints effectively.
- Drive delivery and be responsible for articulating progress via burn-up charts, velocity and other means, proactively escalating to the Publishing Executive and Programme Boards where necessary.

Leadership and Team Management:

- Provide technical knowledge and strong leadership to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with business goals and driving the team towards successful delivery.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging open communication, problem-solving, and innovation.
- Ability to interpret non-technical business needs and communicate them effectively to engineering and data teams.
- Hold and maintain effective relationships with C-level stakeholders, and ability to efficiently present project technicalities to non-technical senior stakeholders.






- Lead on requirements gathering workshops alongside the Product team to ensure the scope of project work is aligned to business goals.

Stakeholder Engagement:

- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure that project objectives are clearly defined, understood, and aligned with business goals and priorities.
- Manage stakeholder expectations by providing regular updates on project progress, addressing any concerns promptly, and ensuring that the final deliverables meet or exceed expectations.

Root Cause Analysis and Problem Prevention:

- Identify and analyse the root causes of recurring issues within the team or software processes, using data-driven methods to pinpoint underlying problems.
- Develop and implement actionable solutions to prevent the recurrence of these issues,





ensuring long-term improvements in team performance and software quality.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and problem-solving within project teams to proactively address potential issues before they escalate.

Agile and Lean Implementation:

- Drive the adoption of Agile and Lean methodologies across teams, focusing on delivering value incrementally and continuously improving processes.
- Facilitate key Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, ensuring they are effective and focused on delivering outcomes.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

- Implement and champion a culture of continuous improvement within teams, using data-driven insights to refine processes and improve team performance.






- Encourage teams to experiment with new approaches and tools, driving innovation, learning and improving efficiency across the delivery life cycle.
- Monitoring team progress and identifying areas for improvement.

Risk and Issue Management:

- Proactively identify and mitigate risks, issues and obstacles that could impact project delivery, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Develop contingency plans and escalate critical issues to senior management as needed.

Process Standardisation and Consistency:

- Work with teams to optimise delivery processes, tailoring them to the specific needs and challenges of each team while ensuring consistency in outcomes.
- Continuously refine and adjust methodologies to suit the evolving needs of the organisation and its teams,





promoting flexibility and adaptability.

Sustainability and Decarbonisation:

- Support and contribute to the organisation's commitment to worldwide decarbonisation efforts by driving technology initiatives that minimise the organisation's carbon footprint.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS FOR THE JOB

- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, or Lean, with demonstrable examples of driving best adoption for delivery.
- Practical background in software engineering preferred.
- Verifiable experience of successfully delivering multiple and complex software projects, within digital transformations.
- Excellent collaboration and leadership skills with the ability to confidently communicate up to Executive and C-level.






- Ability to construct and understand (and help teams to understand) important agile metrics such as burndown, burnup, velocity, work in progress, cumulative flow etc. and use these metrics to improve.
- Experience coaching teams and stakeholders on Agile principles, practices, and values and be able to call out agile anti-patterns.
- Ability to facilitate Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work with multiple teams and stakeholders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with project management Agile tools, such as Jira and Confluence.
- Ability to influence teams and individuals to help create high-performing agile teams.






- Ability to call out working practices or behaviors that are preventing the team from working effectively.
- Relevant Agile certifications as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM)/Professional Scrum Master (PSM), ICAgile Certified Professional in Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC) are preferred.

Basic salary £70,000 + benefits

Hybrid working with 4 - 8 days per month in the central London office.
