Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.

Day-to-day, your focus will be on delivering designs, drawings, information, calculations and enhancements that keep vital, innovative and big-budget projects moving. You’ll make sure assets are safe, working and compliant; develop your own solutions; and be a trusted source of engineering advice for everyone, including our Heads of Engineering Delivery.
You will be ready to take on the position of Senior Engineer in Highways and Traffic. It will be expected that you have an expert knowledge of Traffic Engineering. You will be reporting to a Senior Engineering Leader in Highways and Traffic.
You will be degree qualified, or have substantial relevant experience, in an engineering discipline relevant to Traffic Engineering. As Senior Engineer you will have to demonstrate TfL competencies and proficiency in designing and technically assuring traffic engineering schemes. Your experience should be of urban traffic engineering schemes in particular, and you will be a highly competent technical lead,
able to communicate complex technical matters to both Engineering and non-technical stakeholders both verbally and in written form. You’ll know the Mayor’s Transport Strategy and have worked on Healthy Street schemes and/or other complex traffic engineering projects. You will have significant experience in providing professional advice and assurance, have significant knowledge of national and local technical standards and legislation, and have a proven track record of delivering schemes.
