The Opportunity
The Content Curation & Research Lead for the EMEA region works directly with our sales team to ensure a high level of service is provided to our Enterprise customers. In this role, you will be responsible for curating high-quality photography, illustration, video footage, and music from across Shutterstock’s vast asset libraries, support our highest value clients with their content needs and use your expertise to support other members of the team.
Note: This is not a perm status role but on a fixed term contract basis estimated through September 2025. This role will be hybrid, expected in the London office 1-2 days a week.
The Day to Day:
- Manage a team of curators and researchers,
inclusive of direct reports and supervision of contract-based researchers as needed.
- Reactively and according to client briefs, create collections from our in-house library of visual and audio content including curations created based on conceptual requests.
- Collaborate with content strategists to proactively curate collections that anticipate client needs for both commercial and editorial content according to industry verticals, market trends and editorial events & holidays.
- Meet or exceed the Service Level Agreement (SLA) in regard to accurate and timely completion of research and curation requests on a daily basis.
- Analyze and understand unique brand guidelines for key customers to ensure reactive and proactive curations adhere to these guidelines.
- Record detailed descriptions of content gaps and identified trends in research requests and communicate these to the broader content team in support of content acquisition activities.
- Share insights and best practices with the sales team and clients to support proper communication and usage of content research and curation services.
- Attend client meetings on demand to promote our service, to discuss specific briefs and share tips and tricks on using our platform.
- Work with account managers and their clients to support large projects such as refreshing brand libraries.
What you’ll Bring to the Role:
- BA/BFA/BS in Photography/Video/Graphic Design or a related discipline
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the stock industry or a closely related field
- Related work experience or education within the field of communication arts, graphic design, advertising or art history.
- A clear aptitude for visual, auditory and verbal problem solving
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (multiple languages a plus)
- Affinity for the English language and its many nuanced and different ways of describing concepts, ideas and stories
- Highly organized and resourceful with a meticulous attention to detail
- A discerning curatorial eye for different genres of photography, illustration and video
- Conscientious and able to work under deadline pressure in a calm and collected manner both individually and as part of a larger team
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize duties, and track research requests
- Extensive knowledge of the stock industry and related fields.
