RN Manager Critical Care Services (CSIC)

Job Summary :
Are you ready to take the lead in a fast-paced, high-impact critical care environment? As the Manager of our Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care (CSIC) unit, you'll be more than a highly qualified clinician;
you'll be a key player in shaping the future of critical care at our hospital. With your advanced skills and strong critical thinking, you’ll work side-by-side with the Nursing Unit Director to plan, implement, and oversee the day-to-day operations of a high-performing team.
We’re seeking someone with a passion for patient care and a talent for leadership someone who can inspire and mentor our skilled CSIC staff while ensuring the smooth, efficient functioning of the department.
You'll play a pivotal role in collaborating with physicians, guiding treatment from minor injuries to critical cases, and driving positive outcomes for our patients.
In this Manager role, you will :

- Lead and delegate effectively , aligning work responsibilities with team members' strengths and areas for growth while balancing workload.
- Mentor and develop staff , identifying strengths and opportunities for growth, and providing targeted training and support to elevate performance.
- Manage departmental operations , including staffing, hiring, evaluating, scheduling, and, when needed, guiding and disciplining staff.
- Recruit and retain top talent , ensuring the CSIC is staffed with skilled, passionate professionals to support smooth operations.
- Drive financial and operational success ,
maintaining compliance with budgets and key financial metrics while contributing to hospital-wide initiatives.
- Foster collaboration across departments, ensuring seamless integration of CSIC operations within the broader hospital ecosystem.
Qualifications :
- RN license in the State of Alaska
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or active enrollment in a program within 12 months)
- BLS / BCLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Experience : At least one year of experience in CSIC, three years of direct ICU nursing, and a minimum of two years of open-heart recovery experience.
- Exceptional communication skills : Strong written, oral, and presentation abilities.
- Leadership prowess :
Proven skills in leading and motivating a team in high-pressure environments.
- Creative problem-solving : Ability to work resourcefully within a team, proposing and implementing initiatives to improve patient care and departmental efficiency.
- Tech-savvy : Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, with strong analytical skills for interpreting data and identifying trends.
