What is the opportunity?
The role of Investment Manager, Client Facing is responsible for the management of a client base, developing, and maintaining existing client relationships whilst further increasing business with the generation of new clients.
You will proactively represent IM function internally and RBC Brewin Dolphin externally to develop and positively influence the firm’s position within the marketplace.
The Investment Manager will proactively support business development activities and work to meet or exceed targets for new business, producing portfolio solutions to meet clients’ needs and deliver ongoing monitoring,
making changes where appropriate to deliver continued suitability of investments.
What will you do?
Ensure ongoing client suitability, being responsible for all actions consistent with the management and advice of client portfolios.
Help drive efficiency within the office / team to sustain business growth while ensuring fair client outcomes.
Be responsible for all actions consistent with the management and advice of client portfolios, where appropriate.
Share best practice opportunities to deliver business growth that will contribute to the success of the team.
Understand and comply with all the relevant regulations and principles applying to the role as a Certified Person with the Regulator, as well as RBCBD policies and procedures.
Establish an effective, professional, and positive relationship with team members.
Resolve conflicts within the team including situations referred by colleagues.
Set a clear direction and purpose for your team through setting SMART objectives.
Ensure your team have regular Performance Reviews,
supported by the correct documentation.
Help your team develop, both individually and collectively, through development conversations, coaching and feedback.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Attained CISI Level 7 Wealth Management Masters or equivalent.
Maintains SPS in line with professional body requirements.
Proven experience as an investment manager.
Knowledge of Financial Planning and client advice, plus knowledge of complex and higher risk advice areas.
FCA qualification and Brewin Dolphin internal requirements for authorisation to provide advice in complex and specialist areas and maintaining knowledge in these areas through CPD.
Strong management skills.
Nice-to-have
In-depth understanding of financial markets / risk management techniques / regulatory requirements.
