PositionOverview :
The successful candidatewill be instrumental in empowering students to develop a deepunderstanding and appreciation for the principles of physics andgeneral science within an International Baccalaureate (IB)curriculum.
This role entails fostering a dynamic and inquirybasedlearning environment that encourages independent thoughtcollaboration and a lifelong love ofscience.
KeyResponsibilities :
- Developand deliver the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and IB DiplomaProgramme (DP) Physics and General Science curriculum to studentsin Grades 6 to 12.
- Design and implementengaging and challenging lessons that promote scientific inquiryand critical thinking.
- Prepare and mark a widerange of assessments following MYP and DPprotocols.
- Differentiate instruction to meetthe diverse learning needs and styles ofstudents.
- Utilize a range of studentcenteredteaching strategies resources and technology to enhance learningexperiences.
- Embed IB Approaches to Learning inthe curriculum delivery.
- Collaborate with theChair of Science and other faculty members to establishinterdisciplinary links.
- Engage in ongoingprofessional development to stay abreast of the latest scientificadvancements and teachingmethodologies.
EducationandQualifications :
- Degreeor equivalent qualification in Physics or a relatedfield.
- Teaching qualification (QTS orequivalent)
- International Baccalaureatecurriculum experience
- Fluency in both verbaland writtenEnglish
Knowledge andSkills :
- Full knowledgeof Physics and General Science subject matter and the latestdevelopments in these fields.
- Ability todeliver outstanding lessons using diverse teaching strategies andresources
- Enthusiasm and passion for teachingPhysics and General Science
- Adaptability tomeet the diverse needs of learners
- Excellentpractitioner of inquirybased and handson learningapproaches
