An opportunity has arisen for a band 4 patient Flow Coordinator posts at Complex discharge team Whipps Cross University Hospital site.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work with the complex Discharge team . If you possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, good communication and IT skills, have the ability to work under pressure have a specialist interest in developing the service we provide then please apply.

Main duties of the job

To support the Complex Discharge Team in facilitating patient flow and effective discharge.

To prepare regular and detailed reports on medically optimised and delayed discharges for senior managers,





consultants and as required, project board meetings and other senior level discussions.

To support the Complex Discharge Coordinators and the MDT in facilitating safe discharges. To undertake urgent discharge activities as required.

Although this position is a 12 months fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process, and finalise pre-employment checks.

This means the contract will begin when the candidate starts the role and may be slightly shorter than 12 months.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

Good basic Education to GCSE or equivalent level

Experience

Essential criteria

- Understanding of challenges and pressures in a healthcare environment
- Previous experience of working in a customer focused or service area
- Previous experience in discharge management / social services liaison.
- A commitment to a high standard of service.

Desirable criteria

Experience supervising staff.

Knowledge







Essential criteria

- Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft packages
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation such as local authority legislation and the Care Act (2014).
- Accurate keyboard skills

Desirable criteria

Working knowledge of CRS or similar system.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including dispute resolution
- Problem solving, analysis, and lateral thinking
- Ability to work both under own initiative and as part of a team
- Well-developed organisational skills.
- Excellent telephone manner
- Good time management skills
- Able to prioritise own workload, work under pressure, and take direction to reflect hospital priorities






- High standard IT skills with the ability to input and retrieve information with accurate data entry.

- Able to cover 7 days working with either 8 to 4 or 10 to 6 shifts pattern
- To be flexible and adaptable to change.
- Reliable and understands confidentiality and sensitive issues.
