An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Outpatient Booking Team Leader within Specialist Surgery.
The Outpatient Booking Team Leader will support the Service Manager who is responsible the management of Referral to Treatment (RTT) & Cancer Access standards across assigned services.
The post holder will take responsibility for the management of the Outpatient booking administration teams and Outpatient PTL across the Directorate ensuring compliance with the Trust Elective Access Policy.
The Outpatient Booking Team Leader will work within the clinical services ensuring appropriate prioritisation and then chronological booking is consistent for all outpatient appointments within the Directorate.
Applicants should be well organised with excellent communicational skills, able to work well under pressure and be a key team player.
Computer literacy and good customer service skills are a must.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for ensuring that systems are in place to achieve delivery of the Directorate’s patient access targets via the implementation of new processes and procedures
The post holder is responsible for the practical management of Outpatient waiting lists, working closely within the Directorate to ensure waiting list improvements and national targets are achieved.
To present highly complex statistical information to staff to assist with ongoing service improvement. To provide expert analysis by using a variety of appropriate query tools ( Access, Excel) for monitoring and forecasting purposes ensuring information is accurate and up to date,
including investigation and resolution of data queries and problems.
To be the first point of contact to the Outpatient booking team by providing support and leadership including line management.
To be accountable for maintaining an electronic register of statutory and mandatory training and to ensure staff has attended as required.
To identify training needs for clerical staff and to implement training plans as necessary.
Ensure that patients are booked in accordance of clinical priority and escalating any concerns regarding possible breaches of targets.
To be responsible for the day-to-day management of all waiting lists across the Directorate, ensuring best practice (PTL Management) is applied in line with national recommendations.
