Apply your learning, satisfy your curiosity and prepare for a long, successful career alongside industry experts. Arrive curious. Discover opportunity.

Your future starts here.

PRODUCT ENGINEERING: HARDWARE AND MECHATRONICS UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMME
Hardware and Mechatronics is at the heart of all our vehicles. It’s fundamental to how we address the ever-evolving engineering landscape and the challenges it brings. At JLR, our vehicle dynamics and off-road capability really sets us apart, but our remit spans much farther than that. From mechanical design through to integration and systems engineering, we deliver outstanding customer experiences that bring modern luxury to life.

We deliver safety-critical,

high-performing and high-quality systems thanks to the creative expertise of our people and the world-class tools and processes we use. As a Hardware and Mechatronics undergraduate, you’ll support us throughout the design and verification process by utilising both Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) to deliver engineering specifications. You’ll use state-of-the-art engineering equipment and software to help you design the electromechanical control systems of the future.

During this year-long programme, you could be working across a number of specialisms, building cross-functional relationships and collaborating with different stakeholders as you deliver innovative engineering solutions.

Below you can find out more about the teams you could be working in. The team you’re placed in will depend on your personal preferences and business needs.

VEHICLE PROGRAMMES TEAM
Our Vehicle Programmes team span across everything from Product Strategy, Programme Management, Business Transformation, Jaguar Electrified Architecture, Vehicle Technologies, Vehicle Accessories and Vehicle Personalisation. In short, we bring together a full enterprise of divisions within JLR to deliver the high-quality, modern luxury our customers have come to expect and love.

You’ll help support the integration of this enterprise - delivering commercially successful products on time and to quality standards, and ensuring we fulfil our brand and customer promise throughout their lifecycles.

If you join this team, you’ll have the opportunity rotate through a variety of placements both within and outside of Vehicle Programmes. You’ll use your innovation and creativity every day as you develop the skills you need to become a great leader. You’ll learn how to work in an Agile environment, improve your presentation skills, and build relationships with key stakeholders around the business.

With ongoing support from industry-leading experts, backed by continual learning opportunities, you’ll find working here as inspiring as the vehicles you’ll help to create.

ENGINEERING PROPULSION TEAM
Propulsion engineering at JLR is changing - bringing power,

performance and connectivity together to create the future of exceptional and environmentally friendly driving experiences.

Our iconic brands are the foundation of exemplary British engineering, but now we’re using cutting-edge research and technology to develop the next generation of electric drive units, energy storage devices, engines, batteries, transmissions and drivelines.

We’re a global team, with testing facilities and offices all around the world. With this kind of global presence and our £15bn investment in the electrification of our luxury brands, Propulsion is where modern luxury comes to life.

If you join this team, you’ll be key to securing JLRs future as a leading provider of premium and sustainable electrified vehicles, supporting JLRs commitment to Destination Zero by 2039.

ENGINEERING VEHICLE (EV) TEAM

This is the technical team responsible for the product creation process. They lead on engineering innovation from concept to customer, managing the technical content of programmes, and balancing customer attributes and commodities to deliver and launch world class products.

If you join this team, you’ll help us drive the creation and control of vehicle architectures, conduct diverse technical projects and concept studies, and champion end-to-end vehicle efficiency improvements, while integrating systems to ensure the seamless delivery of futureproofed cars.

If you join this team, you’ll collaborate with experienced engineers to develop real-world engineering solutions. You’ll learn how to use tools, engineering methodologies and techniques to create and optimise impressive engineering solutions – working on new products and enhancing our current ones. This role will raise your profile across the business as you collaborate with different stakeholders, accelerating your development as an engineer and preparing you for the engineering landscape of tomorrow.

ENGINEERING OPERATIONS (EO) TEAM

Engineering Operations underpins technical innovation and product delivery with modern tools and processes, and specialist technical services. We deliver world-class products thanks to our diverse team who work on everything from project management and data analytics through to building and testing prototypes. We’re involved at every stage of the engineering process, helping JLR to transform the way we engineer and deliver our products.

If you join us, you’ll rotate through a variety of divisions within the Engineering Operations team, collaborating on business-critical projects and working with state-of-the art technology.
