The Finance and Procurement team plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's goals, ensuring financial sustainability, and promoting efficient resource management. As the Financial Accounting Manager, you will lead the financial reporting, VAT, and treasury management functions.
This hands-on role involves preparing year-end financial statements, coordinating audits, and overseeing the financial administration of capital projects. You will work closely with various teams, including Financial Systems, Operations, and Finance Business Partnering, to ensure accurate and insightful financial reporting. This newly created position provides an opportunity to shape the role and lead an experienced team within a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage external financial reporting, including year-end financial statements.
Oversee VAT and corporation tax affairs, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Handle treasury management and coordinate the financial administration of capital projects.
Collaborate with internal teams to monitor and report on expenditure against budgets.
Work closely with auditors during the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and support.
Utilize financial systems for data extraction, analysis, and presentation to support decision-making.
We are looking for a motivated and qualified accountant with strong technical expertise and leadership skills. Ideal candidates should have:
A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
Proven experience in preparing year-end financial statements and working with auditors.
Strong understanding of current accounting standards and VAT legislation.
Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting,
with the ability to interpret and present data clearly.
Experience using complex financial systems and software (experience with Agresso Business World or similar systems is advantageous).
Open to applications from new or recently qualified accountants seeking their first move out of practice.
