Birmingham City University is a large and diverse place to study right in the heart of the city and we currently have an exciting opportunity for an Employer Engagement Consultant within the Careers + Team. Following the development of the University Employability Strategy,
BCU is investing £2,000,000 in additional resources and staffing to support our students in gaining the skills and experience to develop successful future careers.
The Employer Engagement Consultant will lead engagement with employers for the Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences (HELS) to drive the depth and breadth of relationships to drive graduate level employment outcomes, employer engagement through the curriculum in respect of placements, live briefs and mentoring and to drive employer led event activity which actively connects graduates with employment outcomes. You will develop the plan to support the Employer Engagement Manager to drive the volume of employer engagement and the delivery of graduate level jobs to ensure more graduates secure graduate level employment year on year, and consult with businesses to explain the structure and operation of the various schemes,
initiatives and graduate talent pipelines available across the University to source more graduate opportunities in the UK for BCU graduates. You will work closely with Career Consultants and Academic colleagues to co-create opportunities for employer-related activity within course programmes, and generate new business leads for the team via online, telemarketing and other proactive routes.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, with a relevant professional qualification in Careers, recruitment or a related area. You will have experience in recruitment, organising employer events, B2B relationship management and/or business development, as well as working to targets or KPIs. You will have experience in relationship management, networking and using social media channels and marketing materials in a business development context.
