About Us

The Research Department of Primary Care and Population Health is part of the Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care and is headed by Professors Greta Rait and Kate Walters. The Department’s strategic aim is to deliver high-quality teaching in community-based primary care and public health and to undertake a programme of internationally competitive multi-disciplinary research addressing the management and prevention of disease in individuals and populations in areas that are of priority to the health of the public.

About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual for the role of Administration & Finance Assistant which is based in the Research Department of Primary Care & Population Health (PCPH) at the Royal Free Campus.

The Administration & Finance Assistant will support staff with administrative tasks including both finance and general administrative duties. Finance tasks include raising purchase orders, purchasing equipment, monitoring expenditure on departmental projects and grants, supporting pre and post-award research grant processes. They will organise and support staff meetings, management meetings and departmental seminar series and will facilitate Patient and Public Involvement activities for PCPH. They will work with the Research Department Administrator to support the implementation of the research department strategy including running surveys, assisting with estates management and supporting the Heads of Research Department.

Subject to the agreement of the line manager the successful applicant may work remotely for up to 40% of the week.

About You

To do this job you'll need GCSEs in English and Mathematics at Grade C or above, and experience of working in a service delivery environment as part of a team. You'll need strong data analysis and reconciliation skills with an attention to detail, with excellent IT skills including advanced knowledge of Excel and a good all round knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

If you have experience in the Higher Education sector and / or of using Oracle, that's great. But if you don't, and you tick our other boxes, then we'd still love to hear from you!
