Student Liaison and Engagement Officer (Fixed Term)
Job description
Fixed Term until 31st July 2025
We are looking to recruit a Student Liaison and Engagement Officer (SLEO) to help and support students with their engagement throughout their studies. The successful candidates will report to the Student Liaison and Engagement Team Leaders and will work alongside other SLEOs and the wider student support team, including the Academic Skills Team, Disability and Mental Health and Wellbeing.
The successful candidates will be enthusiastic, innovative, and versatile in their approach, demonstrating excellent communication skills and the ability to establish strong working relationships with students and staff.
Applicants will need a good honours degree. Experience of supporting students in Higher Education and a good, up-to-date knowledge of Learner Analytics, virtual learning environments and student apps would be beneficial, but full training on systems will be provided. As well as working with traditional undergraduate students, the role will involve supporting mature learners, apprentices, and foundation level students.
Experience of working with students from widening participation backgrounds, who may require more support would be advantageous.
Hours of work will be 35 hours per week, normally 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
This advert will close once we receive a suitable number of applications.
Interviews for this post are expected to take place w/c 11th November 2024.
This role will be located at Leeds Trinity University campus in Horsforth, Leeds. Through our agile working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview. You may also be required to work at our campus in Leeds city centre.
If you have any queries about the application process, please email [email protected] or call 0113 283 7130.
