About Us

The King’s community is dedicated to the service of society. King’s Strategic Vision 2029 sets out our vision for the future, shaped around five priority areas:

educate to inspire and improve; research to inform and innovate; serve to shape and transform; a civic university at the heart of London; and an international community that services the world. Our ambitious Education Strategy sets out the actions that we must take to transform how we teach, how and where our students learn and how we support them during their time with us.

The Visa Compliance Service is essential in ensuring King's College London adheres to Home Office Student visa sponsorship requirements. Our team is dedicated to safeguarding the university's ability to sponsor international students by ensuring full compliance with UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) regulations. We provide comprehensive support and guidance to students, helping them navigate visa requirements and maintain their legal status. By continuously monitoring compliance processes and implementing improvements, we ensure the university remains a trusted and reliable sponsor.

Our work not only supports the university's strategic goals but also enhances the student experience by providing a secure and compliant environment for international students.

We are part of the Students & Education Directorate, a collection of wide-ranging professional services in place to support King’s students and their education. As a directorate we manage the student lifecycle from application to graduation and beyond, to ensure a coherent and seamless student experience and effective administrative processes, working closely with King’s faculties to do so.

About The Role

As the Senior Visa Compliance Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the university’s compliance with UK immigration laws, directly influencing the institution’s regulatory standing and reputation.

You will assist in key areas of compliance, including the issuance of Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), precise record-keeping, and timely reporting to UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI). Your role is critical in ensuring that students under immigration control are supported, while maintaining high compliance standards.

You will work closely with the Visa Compliance Manager, acting as their deputy and contributing to the management of daily compliance operations, as well as supporting the delivery of strategic projects. In addition, you will help ensure that all visa-related information is accurate and accessible to both staff and students, while engaging with key internal and external stakeholders to provide expert advice on visa compliance issues.

During peak periods, you will offer supervisory oversight to Visa Compliance Officers and temporary staff, ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of visa-related tasks. Your expertise will also be invaluable in assessing complex immigration cases, ensuring decisions are in line with university protocols and UKVI regulations. Staying informed on evolving immigration policies, you will help maintain the university’s robust compliance framework.

This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking to develop their skills in visa compliance and who wish to utilise their expertise in supporting compliance processes and immigration law. This is an opportunity to grow your skills in managing compliance projects,

contributing to process improvements, and ensuring institutional compliance with UKVI regulations.
