Main Purpose of Role :
Reporting to Manager of Proposals the Senior Bids & Proposals Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with the proposal life cycle for assigned bids and the coordination of compelling, winning and value driven solutions.
You will play an central part within the overall Bid Team,
collaborating closely with various stakeholders at all levels of the organisation across technical delivery, business development, commercial, legal, and finance, etc.
You will co-ordinate and support the development of the proposal document and will be responsible for the production and delivery of compliant, professionally produced tenders within customer defined timeframes.
This role requires the highest levels of attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure to demanding deadlines.
Responsibilities :
- Arrange and attend internal bid / no bid, kick-off, review, clarification and handover meetings with all relevant stakeholders to ensure client deadlines are met in line with Penspen’s bid management process.
- Ensuring win themes and strategies are embedded within proposals..
- Facilitate and prepare content for procedural review meetings on bid strategy, cost, risk and lessons learned.
- Coordinate and administrate tender pricing with support from the bid manager and manager of proposals,
liaise with subcontractors as appropriate and ensure all contractual requirements adhered to.
- Coordinate and manage our response to customer requests for clarifications / amendments promptly and professionally.
- Manage CRM for own opportunities, maintain excellent document filing and administration support for tender materials.
- Manage the bid database and development of knowledge stores including standard company information, experience lists, executive summaries and all proposals related information.
- Assist with BD activities, such as preparing presentations and attending marketing events.
- Maintain compliance with departmental and company procedures.
- Other duties as directed by line manager.
Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience :
- Minimum of three years’ experience of preparing proposals.
- Proven experience of bid coordination and management for a range of project values.
- Excellent organisational, fluent communicator with strong bid writing skills.
- Proactive, resilient and self-starter mentality with a strong desire to win.
- Comfortable working under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Strong relationship and networking skills.
- Reliable, responsible and safety conscious.
- Excellent use of power point, word, excel and pdf to prepare professional documents.
- Knowledge of the energy industry is desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is desirable.
