About the roles

Tackling climate change is the biggest challenge facing our generation and we need to deliver a cleaner, greener, energy system to support the UK’s 2050 net zero target.

The Strategic Infrastructure (SI) business unit has been set up to deliver 17 new major projects in the UK, as well as other strategic projects to help us deliver on our net zero ambitions and help the UK Government meet its target of 50GW of renewable energy by 2030.

We are currently recruiting for a number of roles within the Land and Consenting team’s to develop a first in class team to support the delivery of National Grid’s clean energy ambitions.

- Consents Officer’s






- Land rights project managers
- Senior Consent project Managers

Surveyors and Consent Officer’s

- Experience of providing project and contract management services as part of delivering land rights projects.
- Whilst on one hand you’re resilient, you are also compassionate. You can understand the concerns a local resident might have about a project and will do whatever you can to help support them.

A collaborative mindset is essential.

- Land Rights Project Managers and Senior Consents Project Managers;
- Experience of delivering start to finish land activities for infrastructure projects including access to land, securing land rights,





and the negotiation of compensation settlements.
- You are an effective, inclusive leader who is open to new approaches and knows how to foster that same openness in your team.

What you'll do

Surveyors and Consents Officers :







- Experience of delivering land activities for infrastructure projects including access to land, securing land rights, and the negotiation of compensation settlements.
- Experience of working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams (engineering, legal, consenting) to support overall project delivery.
- Knowledge of the consenting regimes and processes relevant to complex linear projects. This includes the Planning Act (2008) Development Consent Order and Compulsory Purchase Order processes and practice including the compensation code.
- With the support of a Lead Consenting Officer, providing guidance to Project Managers and Engineers on subjects such as consenting strategy and processes, consenting and environmental risks, and associated costs and timelines.






- Obtaining consents for your projects and enabling them to be developed and delivered to programme and cost, whilst maintaining or enhancing the reputation of National Grid.

You could be working on one large project or four or five smaller ones.

Lands Rights Project Managers and Senior Consents Project Managers :

- Using your project management and leadership experience to guide, challenge and lead your team to successfully deliver project consents.
- Lead a team of Land rights specialists and professionals to drive forward the delivery of land rights activities across a portfolio of projects from development to construction, including access to land, securing land rights, and the negotiation of compensation settlements.
- Report on programme, key milestone delivery, risk,





contract and financial management on a regular basis. This includes being able to identify and distil complex land issues in a succinct and clear way in regular reports to the ET Property leadership team and Project Directors.
- Collaborating with a wide variety of people on DCO projects. These might include representatives of Ofgem; statutory consultees such as Natural England, the Environment Agency and Historic England;

government bodies; landowners, or any other member of the public affected by a proposed scheme.

What you'll get

- Surveyors and Consents Officers;
- Competitive salary up to £73,000 dependent on capability.
- In Addition to your salary you will also get;
- Bonus

As well as your base salary,





you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance.

Pension

We offer a generous pension scheme, where we double match, which means for every £1 you contribute, we’ll put in another £2.

We will pay a maximum of 12% into your pension when you pay 6%. That gives you a total 18% into your pension every month.

Company Car

We'll give you a monthly voucher value so you can select a car from the company car choice list. You can trade your company vehicle up or down by a maximum of 25% with a voucher value of £470.

Annual Leave

26 days annual leave, alongside the option to buy an additional 5 days.

There is also the option to use up to 3 bank holidays flexibly, With the aim to provide employees the ability to take holidays that are personally meaningful to them.







Up to three of the eight public / bank holidays will become flexible allowing employees to request to work on a holiday and swap the time off for another day during their leave year

Share plans

You can share in our potential success through our two share plans. Our Sharesave plan is a three or five year savings scheme where you can buy shares at the end of the period at a reduced price.

You can buy Partnership Shares each month through our Share Incentive Plan, and become a shareholder and receive dividends

Lands rights Project Manager’s and Senior Consents project manager’s :

- A competitive salary of up to £78,000 dependent on capability.
- In addition to your annual salary, you will also receive;
- Bonus

As well as your base salary,





you will receive a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance

Pension

We offer a generous pension scheme, where we double match, which means for every £1 you contribute, we’ll put in another £2.

Company Car
