Job description
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Project Engineers to successfully deliver all Interior Electronics / Switch Controls for various product line within the business
- Technical ownership of Interior Electronics / Switch Controls through Engineering, development, integration and validation of various electrical modules (ECUs, Sensors and Actuators etc.
into the overall vehicle electrical architecture in collaboration with Functional Departments, technical partners and Tier 1 suppliers.
- Own Commodity attributes such as Quality, Costs, Timing, Homologation, Weight and ensure they are within business targets.
- Own Engineering Sign-off of the electrical components through the development process of DFMEA, DFA, DFM, DVP&R;,
Test & Validation, EMC, FuSa, Cyber Security
- Work closely with other departments such as Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Programs, Logistics, Service and workshops
- Manage and lead team through their career development and regular mentoring.
- Represent the Electrical Department in status meetings and engineering reviews. Also represent GMT in external working groups relating to the responsible components / ECUs.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive Interior Electronics / Switch Packs development
- Excellent understanding Automotive New Product Development Process, Milestones and deliverables for each phases
- Demonstrable experience of electrical component's development and manufacture for multiple projects
- Working knowledge of CAN, FlexRay, automotive ethernet, LIN networks and vehicle diagnostics.
- Working knowledge of relevant homologation standards, ISO and EuroNCAP
- Understanding of Functional Safety and Cyber Security requirements for a global market vehicle
- Notable experience in using various engineering development tools (Polarion, JIRA etc.) and collaborative platforms such as Microsoft Office
- Honor's Degree in Electrical & Electronics, Honor's degree in similar areas such as Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive acceptable with relevant experience in the field
- Other recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience will be considered.
- Additional professional qualifications of Leadership / Managerial skills and Project Management - desired
- Possession of full driving licence is essential.
- Articulate, self-motivated and able to work well on own initiative to achieve goals & objectives
- Excellent skills in managing teams through various phases of the project, high pressure work environment,
flexible working policies, multiple work locations etc.
- Team leader, build constructive relationships and be able to collaborate with others and build One-Team
- Good problem-solving and critical thinking mindset to create reports and metrics with supporting data
- Excellent communication skills at all levels of business internally and externally with partners and suppliers
- Positive but flexible attitude to achieve business goals and milestones
