KS1 Graduate Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a passionate KS1 Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a warm and nurturing primary school in the heart of Birmingham.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the early education of children and gain valuable experience, prior to starting a teacher training opportunity in the future.
Job Title : KS1 Graduate Teaching Assistant
School Type : Good’ 3 form-entry primary school
Pay : £80 - £90 per day
Contract : October 2024 July 2025
Location : Ward of Ladywood, Birmingham
Brief : 1 : 1 and small group support to KS1 children
The Role
As a KS1 Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the teaching staff and pupils within the Key Stage 1 phase.
Working closely with our experienced teachers, you will assist in creating engaging and stimulating lessons that cater to the needs of their young learners.
Your key responsibilities will include :
- Providing one-on-one and small group support to children who may require additional assistance with their learning.
- Assisting in the preparation of age-appropriate teaching materials and resources.
- Supporting classroom management and promoting a positive and safe learning environment.
- Encouraging the social and emotional development of our students through caring interactions and role modelling.
- Assisting with the assessment of pupils' progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents.
The Candidate
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with young children and a commitment to their well-being and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with children, colleagues, and parents.
- Adaptability and a patient demeanour to meet the individual needs of each child.
- Previous experience working with children in any capacity is advantageous, but not mandatory.
