About the Role :
This is an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of designers and makers within a supportive and nurturing environment.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and stimulating Design Technology lessons, fostering a love of the subject and equipping students with valuable skills.
Key Responsibilities :
- Curriculum Delivery :
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating Design Technology lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11) in line with the National Curriculum.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students develop their design and practical skills effectively (e.
g., project management, materials exploration, computer-aided design CAD if applicable).
- Foster creativity,
innovation, and problem-solving skills in students throughout the design process.
- Effectively prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations (if applicable).
- Safe Learning Environment :
- Maintain a safe and well-organized workshop environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Student Progress :
- Track and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to ensure students achieve their academic goals.
- Utilize a variety of assessment strategies to inform teaching and learning.
- Enrichment Activities :
- Contribute to and potentially lead enrichment activities related to Design Technology (e.g., design clubs, workshops, competitions).
- Foster a love of learning and encourage students to explore their design interests beyond the curriculum.
The Ideal Candidate :
- A qualified Design Technology Teacher with a minimum of 2 years' successful teaching experience.
- A strong passion for Design Technology and a demonstrable track record of raising student achievement.
- Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to keep up-to-date with current design trends and technologies.
- Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver engaging and practical lessons.
- A commitment to high standards and creating a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
