Nursery Practitioner - Se15 - 40 hours per week - £10.55 - £11.55 per hour
This Setting are looking for a pro-active, passionate, and friendly nursery assistant to join a busy, independent nursery setting based in Peckham.
The nursery cares for children from 2 to 5 years old.
The nursery practitioner / assistant will be accountable to the nursery manager.
The role is Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. The shifts will be based on a mix of early and late shifts as the nursery is open from 8.00AM-6.00PM.
The role is to start as soon as possible, but the nursery will wait for the perfect candidate!
All candidates will have pre-employment checks carried out prior to starting a role,
these include the right to work, 2 satisfactory references, and an enhanced DBS applied for (by the nursery)
Job Role :
- To formulate and operate a programme of activities suitable to the age range of children attending the setting, in conjunction with the staff team, to enable all children the opportunity to explore, achieve and progress.
- To foresee the needs of children with SEND and give support to the nursery SENCO in meeting individual children's needs.
To support all staff and engage in good staff relations to ensure the setting's operational plan and routines are being implemented.
- Liaise with and support parents and families.
- Attend regular staff meetings outside typical working hours.
- To undertake certain domestic jobs within the nursery, including preparing healthy snacks and / or cleaning of equipment.
- To attend regular training throughout the year.
- To keep up to date records on their key group children, as well as keeping records for other situations in the setting,
such as medicine records for children.
- To attend and contribute to a variety of meetings with management, including staff wellbeing discussions and supervision meetings.
Candidate Requirments :
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (includes but not limited to Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Experience with TeachKloud (desired but not essential)
- Contributes and attends planned social events outside of typical working hours (e.g., staff meals, parent BBQs etc.)
- Level 2 / 3 qualification
