Business Analyst VP
City of London
Contract
£600 £700 per day 9m
cer Financial are working alongside an diverse international mid tier bank based in the City of London. They are looking for a Business Analyst to work with them on a contract basis.
They are undergoing a merger project which they need assistance with with a go live date of mid 24.
The responsibilities of a Business Analyst will include :
- Conduct a detailed review of requirements specified in the Front Office BRDs, and associated traceability matrix, with a view to ensure that the test scenarios selected for UAT are comprehensive,
cover all key impacted areas within the Front Office and are in line with the Group’s standard approach to testing.
- Work closely with the Front Office SMEs and IT department to ensure that user acceptance testing is planned and implemented effectively, and any defects raised are resolved in a timely manner.
- Liaise with Front Office SMEs for UAT sign-off by demonstrating that the requirements specified in the BRD will be met on go-live
- Lead the creation of a business readiness plan / checklist covering all key impacted areas within the Front Office, and work with Front Office SMEs to ensure that actions, owners, and timescales are clarified
- Conduct periodic reviews with Front Office SMEs to monitor progress against the business readiness plan, with a view to ensure that all the impacted teams within the Front Office are ready well in advance of go-live
- Provide regular updates on progress against the business readiness plan to management
- Co-ordinate with different departments in the Bank e.g., Operations, Risk, Finance, Legal, Compliance,
Planning etc to ensure that LCH membership for a Bank entity is completed prior to Day 1
- Co-ordinating with different departments in the Bank to submit a formal application for LCH membership
- Work closely with the Unity programme team to provide an update on progress made with respect to key milestones, raise any risks or issues along with mitigation plans, request for any support or escalation required etc
- Communicate regularly with BAs across other departments within the Unity programme e.g., Treasury, Risk, Finance, Operations, Trade & Transaction Reporting etc to share learnings as well as issues faced by departments as part of go-live preparation
- Communicate regularly with BAs within PMO who are working across different projects and programmes within the Bank to share learnings
- Document and store all BA artefacts so that they can be provided for internal audit or regulatory oversight.
The successful Business Analyst will have :
- Educated to degree level
- Able to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point, strong relationship building skills & communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Experience of participating in deadline driven and / or systems project teams
- Experience in conducting workshops with senior stakeholders
- Must be able to work with IT teams in a collaborative manner in preparation for go-live, demonstrating the business impact of any system changes
- Must be able to take own initiative but also willing to support and take direction when working with a Project or Programme Manager
- Knowledge and understanding of front to back processes in a typical investment banking trade lifecycle
- Experience in Front Office transformation and change programmes in investment banking
- Experience in user acceptance testing, including writing test cases, managing defects etc
- Knowledge and understanding of investment banking products i.e., Securities including Fixed Income (Repos, Bonds), Equity etc and Derivatives including Futures, Interest Rate Swaps etc
- Experience of working with LCH in any capacity will be beneficial
