Job Description – Head of Marketing

DEPARTMENT: Marketing

REPORTS TO: Group GM, Director, Managing Director

BXR is seeking a part-time Head of Marketing to build brand BXR and deliver commercial growth across multiple parts of the business (both our membership offer as well as our pay-as-you-go class offer). Reporting directly into the Group GM and Directors, this role will lead the marketing team and agency partners to deliver on commercial KPI’s through category-leading, brand-building campaigns developed alongside the senior management teams.

The role requires generalist understanding across the marketing ecosystem, an understanding of the media landscape, experience in managing agency partners,





people management skills to develop the in-house team to their best potential as well as the ability to think both creatively and strategically.

This role will also play a key part in the ongoing domestic and international growth of the business alongside the Senior Leadership Team as well as helping in the existing franchise oversight.

We’re one of the fastest growing fitness & wellbeing businesses within the UK. Originally founded on Marylebone’s Chiltern Street, the brand has since expanded to Canary Wharf (stand alone studio) and on the 25th level of the Cities largest building, 22Bishopsgate, making it London’s highest gym with our 4th site within the turbine hall of Battersea Power Station due to launch in September 2023. BXR was founded alongside British Heavyweight Champion, Anthony Joshua, who remains a shareholder within the business. With sights on a growing international footprint (satellite and franchise sites at Qatar and Crete are already live),





we’re set on becoming a globally recognised luxury brand within our category.

BXR’s offer is split with a membership gym product sitting alongside a studio pay-to-train class fitness product under the sub-brand SWEAT BY BXR, both aimed at capturing different training preferences within the fitness market.

BXR works with Daios Cove Hotel in Crete on multiple annual Fitness Retreat’s under the BXR brand, operated and delivered by ourselves.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Digital Agency Partner Management.

Writing on-brand strategic and creative briefs for digital agency partner to deliver across Social, Search, Content and EDM channels. Overseeing paid campaigns and managing spend through digital channels.





Monitoring and measuring success and performance through set KPI’s.

PR Agency Management.

Working with established PR Agency parter to define PR strategy, execution, concepts and oversight of KPI’s and performance.

Team Management.

This role will manage a team of 3-4 individuals. You will be responsible for developing each member of the team, overseeing their individual job functions and performance as well as setting individual focuses, targets and frameworks to operate within across Partnerships, Events.

Brand & Product Strategy.

Working with the senior leadership team to refine and develop the overarching brand strategy across all aspects of the business as well as identifying growth areas for commercial development. Defining Brand Messaging across all channels.







Marketing Strategy.

This role will be responsible for Defining monthly and quarterly marketing plans that take multiple BXR Products to market (membership, classes, retail) that deliver long-term growth across multiple channels. You will translate this strategy into creative campaigns and work with your team and agency partners on implementation and delivery of these campaigns to meet commercial revenue targets as defined by the senior leadership team. Budget planning, top-line media planning/briefing and production expertise will be required in the implementation of your strategy.

Creative & Art Direction.

Working alongside the in-house creative talent and agency partners to create brand assets that bring marketing and brand strategy to life,





constantly overseeing and having approval on all comms (visual and written) across the marketing ecosystem. Writing and ideating on creative concepts across channels

Channel Responsibilities

Oversight of strategy through to execution (with team and agency partners) in the following channels: PR, Events & Activations, Collaborations & Partnerships, Social (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok), Email, POS, SEO, Website & App.

About You

We’re looking for someone who gets equal parts strategy and equal parts brand, marrying long term vision with short term tactical thinking. You’ll know how to pursue long-term growth alongside reactive of-the-moment thinking delivered in all shapes and sizes. You’ll need to be equal parts thinker and equal parts do-er,





unafraid to get your hands dirty and help be part of a team that moves quickly.

Immersion in the lifestyle is also a must - wellbeing and fitness are a key part of your life, you’ll need to live and breathe the product as much as the rest of the business and have a genuine passion for the category.

Personality, defined by a love for working with people, will be key. You’ll be working with your team, our trainer community, senior management as well as operational management at each of our studios to grow our business
