The Architecture Services department is made up of two technical areas: Solutions and Vendor-based presales. The Solutions Architects focus on complex architecture with knowledge ranging more broadly across multiple disciplines, whilst Vendor Architects specialise on providing SME expertise within their respective vendors.

As a Microsoft Architect focused on Security, you'll be part of the Architecture Services Team. In this role you'll be the first port of call for creating Cyber Security solutions that solve customer problems.
You'll be developing the skills and abilities of a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across Microsoft Security solutions, including, but not limited to, XDR, Data Security, Endpoint DLP, SIEM (Sentinel) and more. You will take responsibility as the technical lead on customer projects and will be producing high quality assessment and design documentation when required within a given project or customer engagement.
Working with your Team Leader and Mentor you will work down a path to become a Subject Matter Expert in Microsoft Security Solutions and other related technical disciplines.
You will be working closely with Softcat's Sales community, ensuring existing customers are getting the most out of their investments and supporting with roadmap conversations.
As Architect - Microsoft Security, you'll be responsible for:
- Helping to understand, scope and document customers' business and technical requirements.
- Conducting Data Security Assessments and producing high quality outputs.
- Working with other Services Architecture members, professional services consultants, cyber services team members and solutions architects to develop cross-discipline and multi-vendor solutions for customers.
- Working with the Softcat Networking & Security Specialists and the Softcat Account Management team to provide technical information and expertise to assist customers in their business needs.
- Continually develop your skills and abilities to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Microsoft Security Solutions and licencing models.
- Maintain an accurate and timely updated pipeline and record of work completed through Services CRM systems.
We'd love you to have
- A passion for technology and making technology work for businesses along with a desire to share your knowledge and experience with those around you.
- Relevant degree or industry recognised qualifications or certifications consummate to the role (e.g. Security +, Microsoft Security certifications e.g. SC-900, although desirable this is not a necessity).
- An existing understanding of the Microsoft Security portfolio and ability to articulate the additional value of E5 licencing.
- Excellent communications skills,
particularly with customers.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team to achieve positive results.
- An element of business awareness and commercial acumen.
