Employees of UKIFS can be based at either of our sites; West Burton, Nottinghamshire or Culham, Oxfordshire
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

UKIFS is leading the STEP (Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production) programme to deliver the world’s first prototype fusion energy plant by 2040, driving a path to the commercial viability of fusion. As part of this bold and ambitious mission,

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with stakeholders: Collaborate closely with hiring managers and business leaders to ensure recruitment aligns with our strategic objectives, shaping roles that fit UKIFS’ long-term needs.
- Enhancing candidate and employee experience: Design and implement best-in-class recruitment, onboarding, and retention processes to ensure seamless integration for new hires and foster ongoing engagement.
- Job design & workforce planning: Play a crucial role in job evaluation, ensuring roles are clearly defined and fairly structured, while also planning for future workforce needs.
- Innovative recruitment: Develop creative, data-driven recruitment strategies to source hard-to-fill roles,
bringing in top talent to meet the challenges of a growing, world-changing organisation.
- Onboarding excellence: Lead efforts to build an efficient onboarding process that reflects our Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and creates a positive experience for every new joiner.
