We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payments Compliance Specialist to join a growing financial institution which is at the forefront of technology in banking. This critical role focuses on ensuring the bank’s operations and processes comply with payment scheme requirements (such as FPS and CHAPS), regulatory standards, and industry best practices. As part of the first line of defense, you will play a key role in safeguarding the bank’s compliance and risk management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:Conduct thorough assessments to verify that the bank's processes, systems, and procedures comply with payment scheme requirements and regulatory standards. Monitor and address non-compliance issues,
collaborating with internal teams to implement corrective measures. Develop and maintain in-depth expertise in FPS, CHAPS, and other relevant payment schemes, providing guidance and training to ensure compliance.
Identify areas for continuous improvement in operational processes and drive the implementation of enhancements. Maintain comprehensive documentation and prepare reports for audits, ensuring transparency and accountability. Work closely with cross-functional teams (IT, operations, risk management, and compliance) to foster a unified approach to scheme assurance and regulatory adherence.
Stay informed about updates to scheme requirements and proactively adjust processes to maintain compliance. About You:We are looking for someone with a strong background in IT audit, compliance, or a related field within financial services who has covered payment schemes and is ready to step into a first line of defense role.
The ideal candidate will possess:A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualifications in a relevant field.2-3 years of experience in scheme assurance, IT audit, compliance, or a similar role within a regulated financial institution. Proven knowledge of payment schemes, particularly FPS and CHAPS.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and drive continuous improvement. Strong organizational skills with a commitment to maintaining thorough documentation.
