Project summary

We are recruiting a motivated PhD student to develop non-precious metal catalysts for applications in sustainable synthesis. This project combines organometallic synthesis, high-throughput experimentation, mass spectrometry,

as well as continuous flow to create robust and optimised catalysts for key pharmaceutical transformations. Prior experience in one or more of these areas is beneficial but not required as training in all areas will be provided. The project has significant potential for diverse expansion and can grow as the student progresses. Research will take place within the Sustainable and Digital Chemistry section, and the Institute of Process Research and Development at the University of Leeds.

The ideal candidate has a strong interest in catalysis and organic synthesis. Effective written and verbal communication skills, good time-management and the ability to work in a collaborative environment are essential.

Please state your entry requirements plus any necessary or desired background

A first class or an upper second class British Bachelors Honours degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline.
