You will be leading work on Critical National Infrastructure that enables NHSBT to save lives this involves both understanding of the high-level context of decisions you will take, and painstaking attention to detail.

Note: This role offers a hybrid working option, but you will be assigned a base location at one of NHSBT s main centres.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will be responsible leading the design and delivery of the Blood Donation Business Plan to meet NHSBT strategic goals and annual hospital demand. Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading key strategic projects
- Overseeing national, team collection programs, driving continuous improvement in appointment systems and software.
- Developing data-driven performance indicators and setting annual targets.






- Setting targets to diversify the donor base by ethnicity, gender, and blood group.
- Leading donor recruitment, ensuring appropriate venues, diversity, and blood group availability.
- Managing the Donor Planning and Performance budget.
- Ensuring sufficient collection capacity and optimized productivity.
- Advising the AD of Planning, Insight and Direct Marketing on strategic developments requiring resources.
- Serving as regional media spokesperson.
- Acting as deputy for the AD of Planning, Insight and Direct Marketing, including emergency planning and liaison.
- Continuously review the operating model for alignment with strategy and stakeholder needs.
- Leading risk management, business assurance, and corporate governance initiatives.







You will be required to undertake occasional travel to any NHSBT sites to meet the requirements of the post (notice will be given)

About You

Experience and Knowledge

- Significant senior experience at both strategic and operational level in a relevant planning and communication related role
- Experience of implementing business change together with managing departmental performance requirements
- Experience of coordinating complex planning strategies, balancing organisational targets and stakeholder expectations within defined budgets.
- Experience of managing risk and business assurance at a senior-management level, across multiple stakeholders
- Proven leadership and management experience including remote line management of staff and a wide range of senior stakeholders
- Experience in managing business planning processes,





projects and programmes of work in a supply chain or complex operating environment
- Experience of championing diversity and inclusion and promoting actions to make improvements as well as experience of creating diverse and inclusive teams that are motivated and inspired to work together to achieve a common objective

Qualifications and Training

- Post Graduate qualification in Business Management or Marketing/Planning OR equivalent, plus significant relevant experience
- MBA / Marketing/Planning masters OR experience equivalent to a Masters degree
- Post-graduate study in leadership or management OR equivalent experience in a senior role
- Demonstrate commitment to own Continued Professional Development (CPD)
