Job Title: Legal Counsel – Energy TradingType: Full timeLocation: London, 3 days a weekA leading energy trading organisation are offering the opportunity for a highly skilled Corporate/Commercial Lawyer to join their in-house legal team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing expert legal support across a variety of commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters related to energy trading and finance. Key Responsibilities:Provide legal advice on commercial contracts and corporate transactions specifically related to energy trading activities.
Support on finance matters, including commodity trading agreements, derivatives, project financing, and structured transactions.
Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks governing energy trading, including liaising with regulators and staying updated on market rules and trading regulations. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements.
Oversee corporate governance issues and provide legal support on risk management, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulations. Qualifications:Qualified solicitor with 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in commercial or corporate law, ideally within the energy trading space. Experience with commodities, derivatives, and financial instruments is highly desirable.
Exceptional contract drafting and negotiation skills with a focus on energy-related transactions. The role is onsite 3 days per week in London with a competitive salary. The wider package includes bonus, pension, Bupa healthcare and more.
